Legislative Breakfast, presented by Lake Charles Toyota, gives the community an opportunity to visit with invited delegates to discuss issues that are important to them. Invited Legislators update attendees on current trends in government and plans for the future.
Join us for breakfast and meet one-on-one with the Southwest Louisiana Legislative Delegation to discuss issues affecting our community. Meet with invited State Legislators: Sen. Mark Abraham, Sen. Jeremy Stine, Rep. Ryan Bourriaque, Rep. Wilford Carter, Rep. Les Farnum, Rep. Brett Geymann, Rep. Troy Romero, and Rep. Phillip Tarver.

Nonprofits often rely heavily on volunteers but lack the time or systems needed to manage them effectively. This training introduces practical approaches to recruiting, onboarding, and retaining volunteers while reducing burnout for staff. Participants will learn how clear role design, expectations, and oversight can improve reliability, increase retention, and protect both volunteers and the organization.

Join fellow professionals and practitioners from Southwest Louisiana and beyond for the 28th Annual Connections Count! Professional Development Conference.
Connections Count! brings together diverse local and state audiences that include professional counselors, social workers, school counselors, teachers, law enforcement personnel, public health practitioners, healthcare professionals and others, to expand and enhance our mental and behavioral health knowledge for the benefit of children, youth, and families. Connections do count, so please be a part of our determination to enhance and celebrate our collective expertise!
This event is a two-day in-person conference held in March in which professionals are able to earn up to 14 Continuing Education Clock Hours.
2026 Registration: Early Bird Registration is $399 (January 16–January 30 at 5 PM); General Registration is $475, with attendance limited to 250 participants.
