Event Details

The goal of the Southwest Louisiana Professional Development Institute is to provide ongoing education, resources, and skill-building opportunities for professionals to effectively identify and respond to issues such as domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking, promoting stronger collaboration and support for victims across Southwest Louisiana and beyond.

The SWLA Professional Development Institute: Uncovering the Link is a one-day training designed for professionals, including Law Enforcement, District Attorney’s Offices, Professional Counselors, Social Services, Educators, and beyond, which will focus on the critical intersection between domestic violence and human trafficking and address risk factors of dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, to strengthen collaborative efforts to support victims and prevent exploitation.

We are now offering continuing education hours for local and state audiences, including professional counselors and social workers. Participants can earn up to 7 Continuing Education Clock Hours. Approved for General Social Work and NBCC General CEUs.

Scholarships to attend the SWLA Professional Development Institute are available. Contact Elizabeth Olbrych at (337) 436-9533 or elizabethd@fyca.org for more information.
